Stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes. The sauce will thicken. As your sauce simmers, it will bubble and start to splatter. Watch for the splatters and turn you heat down if the sauce is making too big of a mess.
Add the ground beef to the sauce in the skillet and stir until cooked through.
To Serve:
Butter the inside of your buns and toast them lightly on a griddle or in the oven, slightly. This will help prevent the meat mixture from soaking into the buns.
Add the filling to your buns in heaping spoonfuls and enjoy!! Top the meat with shredded cheddar cheese if you'd like
